Season 2014 – first hatchling!

Thankyou to all our supporters for keeping an eye on proceedings up the “Concrete Hilton”. At around 1pm this afternoon, local time, the first egg hatched and all parties appear to be healthy. Ironically our resources are stretched right now as I’m overseas but Cilla is on top of it all and we should have full size video clips and photos up in the next day or two, but cheers to scylla and others  for your attentiveness at time-keeping and first images (scylla – reprinted with your permission – thanks heaps!):

It’s a promising start to many weeks ahead of antics and cuteness as the first little bobble-head appears in our hi-def cameras for everyone to see. We should see approx 40 days of growth and behaviour before fledging. Congratulations to Beau and Swift for pulling off another addition to the rarified world of peregrine falcons worldwide, and another one up for the ‘macropus” sub-species – break out the champagne and starling patĂ©!

  1. Nice to see you, Scott – I’m looking forward to watching Little One grow up to be as beautiful as Snow! Fingers crossed for the last egg.

  2. Wonderful news about the 1st hatch here! Congratulations to Swift & Beau from all your peregrine falcon friends in Winnipeg, Canada! Here’s hoping for a successful 2nd hatch in the next few days.

  3. Best wishes to the new little one from all of your fans in Rochester, NY! Here’s hoping a new brother or sister arrives soon!
