Finally today we were able to get up into the nest and clean the viewing windows, after a couple of days of “foggy” weather up there (thankyou Migii !), and the difference was noticeable!. It took great care and stealth to open the box without disturbing Migii too much. Neverthless distance was kept while both windows were cleaned off whilst a nervous teenage peregrine looked on, in trepidation. Having closed the box again some video and picture were taken (see gallery to the right) and our little bub has almost doubled in size since we last had a clear view! Probably around 25cm tall now when sitting on haunches, so the standing height will be far higher than that. At this speed of development one would tend towards indentifying Migii as a female as their adult size is 1/3 larger than the smaller males (very approx 450mm tall to the male’s 300mm as adults).
Apologies for the colour of the wallpaper. Such is the nature of the breed as it attempts to clear the nest of any “unwanted materials”, rather than sit in it.
