Another big day today for the Project and its supporters. A crew from ABC TV down in Canberra – Ryan Malcolm and JJ – drove the 3+ hours up to Orange (then back again) to interview us for a planned 2-minute segment on ABC TV. Fascinating and enthusiastic supporters at both the personal and business levels Ryan and JJ got to meet Diamond and Bula from a distance as Cilla and I were interviewed for material for the segment. Fortunately the peregrines greeted us with appearances, and after interviews out in the hot sun we ventured inside to watch on live camera and a trip through the server room ‘metropolis’ to see where all the magical technical work is done.
Unfortunately the eggs are still all shelled up and so we can hope on Murphy’s Law that the first hatching will occur overnight tonight instead, now that Ryan and JJ have left us! Thanks heaps guys, for your interest and for the opportunity of getting Diamond and Bula televised across Australia (provisionally, ABC News at 7pm this Sunday). Thanks for spending your day off with us and we hope that you learnt lots more about peregrines and birds of prey in general. If we can get a copy of the segment soon we’ll post a link in here.
I’m so pleased they visited your very worthwhile project – I hope you all had an enjoyable day and yes, I really hope we soon see a hatching!
Is it pass the incubation period or is their still days left?
Nevermind, there is a egg with a good size hole and i see it moving, so we should see a chick really soon.
Hatch at 4.35 !
HATCH !!! Just before 0500 your time. (Am cooking, can’t stop to work it out.)
