It appears the local breeding season isn’t too far away now. This morning both adults, Beau & Swift, were spotted on the tower peak, bowing and showing a general interest in each other. They then swooped off to do loops of the tower and trees below, with plenty of friendly chirping and in-flight contact. They seem very friendly to each other again and we’ll watch them closely over the next few weeks. it was a rare opportunity to sight both adults in the same place and to gauge their size difference; quite noticeably female Swift is the larger bird, even from this distance (this is the norm for most raptors). Both appear to be in fine health, even through this chilly winter, but the sunny days must provide good vitality. Stay tuned…
