Controlling spam comments

We’ve just made some changes to tighten up on spam comments (not) reaching the website and bloating us out, so if you’re a normal commenter (or would like to start!) and something stops you from leaving a line or two then please drop a line to Scott on the Contacts page and we’ll ease up a bit! Apologies to anyone for inconveniences… Incidentally we’re well up over 120,000 hits (not even counting the camera pages), so a massive thankyou to everyone for participating!

It’s all quiet up the Concrete Hilton today, with various feedings and lots of snoozing. Currently Swift is getting a good sleep, which she;ll need whenever she can for the next few months!

    1. Hey Patricia,
Thanks for leaving comments, from all the way over in NY! It’s always good to hear where everyone lives and we’ve all got some really interesting raptor stories to tell. Keep watching and thanks for your support; a fun 2-3 months ahead now.

    1. Bonjour Anne-Marie,
Great to hear from you again this season and thanks for the words. Exciting times up the Concrete Hilton, but plenty of sleepless peregrine nights ahead though. Keep in touch…

  2. Just testing so see that I can still post ok & to say that the success of your website & livecams is a testament to your ongoing hard work in providing us with excellent information & images of this lovely pair! Our little group here in UK looking forward with great excitement to hatch time
    Thanks

    1. Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your very kind words. I’ve always thought that a hobby costs you nothing as it’s how you spend your time. I see this project in a similar light; we’re getting so much out of this experience, have learnt heaps and are fortunate in being able to broadcast to the rest of the world the highlights and excitement that we observe close-up. Peregrines are a special species and have been a “poster bird” for the cause of saving wildlife from environmental disasters for many decades now. We’re glad we can provide more information to the global research and understanding of raptors (as well as enjoying the furry little bobbleheads again soon!).

  3. Woo Hoo, Scott – what did you do? This is the first time in many months I’ve been able to access the Blog from my home computer – thanks for fixing whatever the problem was.

Swift is enjoying a leisurely preen at the moment.

    1. Hi Clare,
It must’ve been something I did 🙂 ….. we’re getting a lot of hack attempts and spam coming through at the moment so we’re trying to stay on top of it as much as possible. Maybe one of the changes we made in the back end has opened up your home connection again. For the technically-minded we’re monitoring IP address ranges (electronically, not physically!) so if you find yourself locked out try rebooting your home modem to see if it picks up a new dynamic IP address. Good to hear from you again,
      Scott
