We arrived in today to find that yesterday’s damaged egg has disappeared now and must have been discarded overnight by our peregrines. Mum has spent most of today settling and re-settling into quite an impressive gravel nest. Something more comfortable, more sturdy. At one stage this afternoon we spotted her doing some house-cleaning (watch video here … ).
And dad is happier as he really struggled last year with 3 eggs and was never really able to settle properly. With the single egg left now he’s quite prepared to play his part in the incubating process. Egg shell colour appears to be a light brown colour, which is dissimilar to the very white 2nd remaining egg which was crushed yesterday, it appears.
