First fledge – Marri!

Marri, at 43 days old, takes off and flies really well this morning at 0939 h. One of the adults took off immediately afterwards. Here is a video: https://youtu.be/A1UhaFqvuuk

Prev New tower cam and update on nestlings
Next SECOND FLEDGE 1536 h Barru (at 42 days) follows his sister, also a great fledge over the trees (see video below). After they fledge, they may return to the box after a few days (or not) . Either way they stay in the area for a month or two learning to hunt. And the parents still feed them during this period if needed. Interesting prey came in today – a pink-eared duck, a quite small, very beautiful duck. This is the first time that I have identified an adult duck being brought into the box. Tower cam was replaced TODAY. It will provide much clearer images with better zoom and pan capabilities. BUT there are a few technical hiccups, so bear with us for a day or two.
