Interestingly, at some sites the male does about half the incubation during the daylight hours, but at this site, it is much less. I suspect this is more to do with the fact that the females here have been reluctant to leave the eggs than the willingness of the males to incubate. Having said that, our first male Beau, always seemed to be quick to leave incubating, although he didn’t vacate the box, but stood on the ledge.
