The peregrine parents have apparently abandoned the single tiny egg. It’s been used by mum this morning to sit on but neither adult is at all interested. We’ve also just spotted the parents mating on top of the tower again, squawking and carrying on, so we’d have to presume that this current laying attempt has been a false alarm.
Dad then flew off but it wasn’t long before he returned, being tailed by another bird. He turned the tables quickly and then seemingly lost interest and flew back around the tower before settling in the trees where mum had disappeared into as well.
